Sealed Court Records Exposed For 121 Days In Thomson Reuters Breach

Thomson Reuters' West Publishing unit disclosed that an unauthorized party had access to C-Track, its court case-management platform, from March 1 to June 29, 2026 — and that for certain courts, confidential, redacted or sealed material may have been affected.

Why it matters: The ordinary half of this breach exposes Social Security numbers of anyone whose case passed through these courts. The other half may expose sealed material — cooperating witnesses, confidential informants, unexecuted warrants — and no product exists that remedies that.

Date to watch: December 31, 2026 — the credit-monitoring enrolment deadline; and whether any affected court states publicly what sealed material of its own was taken
